“PRAYER IS A POWERFUL WEAPON” by Reverend Karen W. Schneider

We gathered Sunday, July 23, 2017 at 1955 East Arizona Avenue, in Washington Park, Colorado to hear a powerful message on Prayer.  Prayer can stand alone, it is our way of communicating with our Jesus, and it is extremely comforting and rewarding.  Based on the movie, “The War Room”, we can see prayer being a weapon that far surpasses any other weapon we can think of.  Prayer can be a shield offering us protection and a wall of love that blocks any outside forces of evil.

As we gathered together on Sunday, we realized none of us pray as much as we should.  John references Prayer in the scriptures 1 John.  John mentions and hints at the emphasis of God’s will, not our will.  When we communicate with God, we don’t demand what we want, rather we discuss with them what he wants from us.  God’s will stands out when we are praying and we need to understand our Jesus because it is all in our ball court.  If we align our prayers to his will, he will listen;  and we can be certain that he does listen.  John states “God is Life”, having faith in the Son of God, takes away all Evil.  “Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ has become a child of God”.  Loving God means keeping his commandments.  We are not taken out of the world when we pray, we are still here, but prayer gives us comfort, it protects us, it gives us that shield that we require, and our prayers are answered every time, we may not acknowledge the answers, but they are there.  We can get to know God better through prayer.
