It is that time of the year again when we realize we need to start harvesting.  If you enjoy gardening, the harvesting can be an extremely rewarding time because the full grown vegetables and fruits come to fruition.

This year we had lots of rain which proved to be difficult for those who were trying to plant gardens, it seemed all we did was pull weeds.  But for those who had successful gardens, the fruits and vegetables appearing from those gardens helped feed the hungry and oppressed.

A garden represents people.  Each seed can be symbolic of an individual.    That is why our theme is “growing passionate people”.  The gardens represent a whole faith community who are working together to serve Jesus.  It doesn’t mean you have to love gardening, but you can love being part of our congregation in worship and bible study.

Join us for our “Hallelujah” to take place October 17, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. …at 1615 Ogden Street in Denver, Colorado.  Come wearing your costumes and get some Halloween candy while enjoying the spirit of the moment.Backyard View of Sun with Garden  Parking is on the west side of the church.  PLEASE COME!!

Hi To Everyone From Gardens of Divine Hope, I recently took a vacation to Alaska and I have to say only God could have created what I saw.  Beautiful mountains, greenery (as if a rainforest), the ocean, rivers and whales jumping out of the water.  Not only that, but God’s glaciers were breathtaking in their colors of sea blue and pink.  A piece of ice that displayed an “awe” feeling when viewing it, again  only God could have created.  And then there were the Eagles, the birds who sat so quietly in the top of the trees, on the light posts and in the rainforest.  The Eagle with its power so pronounced as it sat high in the trees and observed all passers by. The Ocean with its power was also breathtaking.  The movement of the waters, the undercurrents as they circled, and the bashing against the shore only suggests the true power of the water. Gardens of Divine Hope would like to give you the same experience but within the circle of our community and congregation.  We would like to be the first to introduce Christ to you, if you don’t already know him, and give you the thrust of true peace only experienced within a transformation and rebirth in faith.  Let us guide you and comfort you as you take your path of faith. Visit us anytime on Sundays at 1:00p.m. for our gathering and worship service.  This could change to 9:00 a.m. in the near future, but for now we meet at 1:30 p.m.  We meet at 16th and Ogden (1615 Ogden Street), Denver, Colorado.  There is parking on the west side. Everyone is invited, come for worship, community and food.  We would absolutely love to have you. On Wednesday evenings we have prayer, community bonding, and bible study.  Starting around 6:00 p.m. we have food and prayer and at 7:00 p.m. we have our bible study.  All to take place at the same location, 1615 Ogden Street, Denver, Colorado.  All are invited!! Come experience the love of Jesus Christ. Blessings and Peace, Pastor Karen

It is a wonderful sight to see the vegetables and fruits grow in a Community Garden.  Not only are the vegetables and fruits a great joy but the people who planted them are an even greater joy.  Become part of our group and plant each year, assist in nurturing the garden, and help harvest.  Remember, you are helping others and offering a way to express your love for Jesus Christ and your fellow man.

During the winter months, we will be helping serve meals, assisting people find shelter, and helping those in need to become more self-sufficient.  This will be done through counseling, education, and career building.  Join our group “huddle” in offering these services to those who are in need.  Contact or call her at 720-308-8418 to discuss what we do.  We will have worship services every Sunday at 5:00 p.m. at First Baptist of Denver starting September 8, 2013.

Reverend Karen W. Schneider, Senior Pastor

As we studied the Bible this Sunday, it reminded us all of the purpose of soul revival and restoration.  The soul needs continual restoration through prayer, worship, religious study, community involvement, service to Jesus, and replenishing.  And as we take Communion, it serves as a rebirth, rejuvenation, cleansing and restructuring of our souls.  The soul takes it all in, the heart, the mind, the physical body and the holy spirit.  Let them all work together for your soul to be restored.

Let us hear “Your Story” as you live in a society of change and challenge.  We LISTEN and want you to come to our Table.

Join us for our Worship, Meet and greet and “Craving Biblical Conversation”.

Love and Peace, Pastor Karen

I was working at our Community Garden yesterday and was watching the various people unloading dirt, nurturing and spreading soil for more planting.  What a delightful sight to see, those people giving their time and their heart to an effort to help others.  Those people giving their time for “food for justice”, a concept where a garden grows and the harvest goes to those who are hungry.  Can it get any better than that?

Stop by and see our Community Garden where Gardens of Divine Hope is located, right in the middle. We are at the Community Garden of Metro CareRing downtown Denver at 18th and Downing.   Our Garden is starting to grow.  Give us a visit!!

God Bless,

Pastor Karen W. Schneider

Have you ever had an idea or thought and everyone thought you were crazy?  Or have you thought of something different and no one seems to understand?  God is the answer.  Our God is open to all ideas and understands everything.  No one is judged, no one is categorized, and no one is “crazy”.  Ideas are what make our future and if you have a good one, then you will be a leader of our future.

Share your idea with God and see what happens.  You will be amazed at the outcome of your efforts.  If it weren’t for good ideas, we would not be where we are today.

Love and Peace,

Pastor Karen

Our garden is starting to grow and flourish.  We now have corn, squash and peas  starting to show their faces in our Garden located downtown Denver at Metro CareRing at 18th and Downing.  What a delightful sight to see, a large Garden that is growing to “help others”.

Stop by and see our Garden, and join us for worship in the Fall at First Baptist of Denver at 5:00 p.m. every Sunday evening.  September 8th, is our first worship service First Baptist.    Gardens of Divine Hope Church (First Baptist)  is located at 14th and Grant, across the street from the Capitol Building.  We have an hour of worship and music to set your heart on “fire”.  Let this be your church.  We are open to everyone whether you are of a denomination or not, it doesn’t matter.  Join us!!

Our Garden is not only a Garden in the literal sense, but it is Garden of people as well.  People are what make a church and getting together as a “Huddle” to worship is a way to find the path to God.

Pastor Karen W. Schneider

Gardens of Divine Hope Church is seeking people to help plant gardens throughout the year.  You don’t have to be an expert gardener, all you have to do is show up and we will teach you.  Since Jesus is at the core of this activity, it is more meaningful and worthwhile.  You are doing work for others, you are helping others, you are extending yourself to the betterment of other people.  All of the proceeds, vegetables and fruits produced from the Gardens go to the homeless, oppressed and helpless.

Do something for others by becoming a part of Gardens of Divine Hope Church.  We are seeking 100 volunteers.  If you don’t like to garden, there are many other activities you can take part in to help others.  These are year around activities.

We have worship once a week.  Contact Pastor Karen Schneider for more details at or call at 720-308-8418.  We will be waiting for your response.

If you haven’t starting planting your gardens, now is the time.  The recent weather has not been conducive to planting our vegetables and flowers but now it is great!!  If you feel like helping others who are less fortunate than you and if you have a passion for planting, then join in on the volunteer list for Gardens of Divine Hope Church who have a community of people planting for others.  It is not only fun, it is rewarding and your time is well spent.  Contact Pastor Karen Schneider at or call her at 720-308-8418 for a further explanation.  We are looking for volunteers to plant vegetables and fruit for others.  We are looking for 50 volunteers.
